Suffering Christ

Suffering Christ

Bible references:

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life”.

Mark 10:34

“They will mock him and spit upon him, and flog him, and kill him; and after three days he will rise again”.

Reflection:

The sign of the cross is a sign of God’s love for us, through Jesus.  Jesus willingly accepted his most agonising and terrible death on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice which was necessary to save me and gain for me eternal life.  God loves each one of us and wants each one of us to be saved by Jesus.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for dying for me on the cross with all the pain and suffering You endured, and Your death.  On the third day You rose from the dead and we believe that we too will rise from the dead on the last day.   Amen
